The agency announced on the 5th that the contract termination was mutually agreed upon after sufficient discussions. On the 11th, Park Bom posted a photo on her personal Instagram with the caption 'To the Public, Park Bom,' signaling a fresh start. The agency stated that 'Park Bom has focused on health recovery and rest recently, and we made this decision to respect the artist's stability and future direction.' Previously, Park Bom sparked controversy in March by raising drug allegations against 2NE1 member Sandara Park on Instagram, but withdrew these claims a month later through a handwritten letter. Park Bom had received a suspended indictment in 2014 after it was revealed that she had internationally shipped Adderall, a psychoactive drug, from the United States to Korea in 2010.
