BTS World Tour 'Arirang' Kicks Off in Goyang, City Lit Up in Purple

Goyang City in Gyeonggi Province is preparing to welcome BTS's world tour 'Arirang' with the entire city illuminated in purple, the group's signature color. The concert will be held at the Goyang Sports Complex for four days on the 9th and 11th-12th, with approximately 120,000 domestic and international attendees expected. The city aims to strengthen its brand as a 'performance tourism destination' and spread the economic benefits of the large-scale influx to the entire region. Goyang has launched the 'Goyang Con-Trip' program to connect visitor experiences with local attractions including mural art at the tourism information center, Ilsan Lake Park walks, Bam-ri-dan-gil dining experiences, and shopping districts. The city has designated June 6-15 as 'Regional Economy Revitalization Big Sale Week,' partnering with approximately 130 small business owners to offer discounts and promotional events. Based on last year's Seventeen world tour experience, where card sales in the Daehwa Station area increased 58.1% compared to regular weekends and visitor foot traffic increased 17.2%, the city expects similar economic ripple effects throughout local commercial districts. Drawing on its experience hosting 26 global artist concerts including G-Dragon, Coldplay, and Blackpink, Goyang is deploying approximately 920 safety personnel to ensure a flawless event with zero incidents.
