Wine in BTS V's Chile travel photos sells out at home and abroad within 2 hours of posting — some retailers say restocking will take 2 months

A Chilean wine that BTS member V was seen drinking has sold out at a series of online retailers in Korea and abroad, in what is being called the 'V effect.' V recently posted several photos from a trip to Chile on social media, showing him strolling through local vineyards and touring a winery cellar, including one in which he holds a wine bottle in one hand and a glass in the other. The wine fans identified is 'Lazuli Cabernet Sauvignon,' the flagship wine of Viña Aquitania, a winery in the Peñalolén area of Santiago, Chile. It is a premium wine produced at the foot of the Andes and sells for around 100,000 to 140,000 won. Within about two hours of the post, it reportedly sold out at three official retailers in Korea as well as a Japanese wine purchasing-agent platform and a Greek online wine platform, and some Korean retailers are taking pre-orders while advising that restocking will take about two months. V's influence has been seen before in fashion and electronics. A Venezuelan brand's T-shirt he wore at a soundcheck before a show in Peru sold out, prompting the brand to thank him, and after he was named global ambassador for British tech brand Nothing last month, the headphones and earphones he wore in the campaign photos sold out at 15 retailers worldwide, including in the U.K., Canada and Japan.
