Seoul tourism campaign 'Absolutely in Seoul' featuring RIIZE and aespa's Karina and Winter tops 500 million views in a month — limited goods event until the 28th

'Absolutely in Seoul,' a global Seoul tourism campaign video featuring RIIZE and aespa's Karina and Winter, has surpassed 500 million cumulative views on YouTube and major social media platforms within a month of its release. The video opens with figures from old paintings stepping out into a forest of skyscrapers and follows K-pop stars, cast as modern-day immortals, on a journey across the city. Focusing on night tourism, the video shows Some Sevit, DDP, the alleys of Euljiro and the night view from the tethered gas balloon 'Seoul Dal,' and introduces a night 'Run+Trip' route from Gwanghwamun's Garden of Gratitude to Yongmasan and Banpo Hangang Park. It also features the pojangmacha street in Jongno 3-ga, the hanok alleys of Ikseon-dong and Seosulla-gil, and a clip of Seosulla-gil in which Karina appears to make a video call drew an enthusiastic response from overseas fans. The video has been shared more than 180,000 times on Instagram and X. The Seoul Metropolitan Government is running a participatory event offering limited-edition goods such as posters and photo cards until the 28th at four tourist information centers — Tourist Plaza, Myeongdong, Incheon Airport (T1) and Gimpo Airport — and at Seoul My Soul Shop (Gangnam Station and Yeouido Hangang Park branches). The campaign will expand to outdoor billboards at landmarks in cities such as New York and Tokyo, global OTT services including Amazon Prime Video and Disney+, and CNN. Seoul Tourism Organization CEO Kim Byung-min said the organization will do its utmost to ensure the 'Seoul syndrome' in the video leads to actual visits to Korea and spending in nighttime alley businesses.
