Red Velvet's Wendy is singing 'Even That Is Love' (Geumajeodo Sarangira), an OST for tvN's Saturday-Sunday drama '100 Days of Lies'. Set in 1930s Gyeongseong (colonial-era Seoul), the drama is a spy romance about Lee Ga-kyung (Kim Yoo-jung), a pickpocket who becomes a spy for the independence army, and Sato Hideo (Park Jin-young), an elite interpreter for the Japanese Government-General of Korea, who grow closer while each hiding different goals and secrets. 'Even That Is Love' is a lyrical ballad about the pain and longing within love and true feelings that are hard to express. Built around a gentle piano melody, it opts for a restrained arrangement rather than lavish instrumentation to focus on vocal expression, and Wendy conveys the song's lonely mood with a soft tone and careful control of dynamics. With this, Wendy has lent her voice to the OSTs of two dramas released around the same time. She previously sang 'Recharge Me' for the Netflix series 'Recharge Me' (Nareul Chungjeonhaejwo), released in October, and in January her song 'Daydream' for Netflix's 'Can This Love Be Translated?' reached the upper ranks of major music charts and stayed popular for a long time. Wendy has also sung OSTs for many dramas including 'The Beauty Inside', 'Touch Your Heart', 'Start-Up' and 'Yumi's Cells'. Meanwhile, Wendy will make a solo comeback with a new album in November, about one year and two months after her third mini album 'Cerulean Verge' released last September. The new album is expected to carry a message of warm comfort through music.
