CNBLUE member and actor Jung Yong-hwa showed special affection for 'Mitdo Kkeutdo Eopsi, Neoda' (literally "It's You, Out of Nowhere"), a drama being released four years after it was made. The press conference for Lifetime's new Saturday-Sunday drama (written by Byun Sang-soon, directed by Yoon Jong-ho and Lee Seung-hoon) was held on the afternoon of the 19th in Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul, attended by director Yoon Jong-ho and actors Jung Yong-hwa, Hong Seung-hee, Han Chae-ah and Jo Jae-yoon. The drama is an unpredictable romance about Eom Tae-bong (Jung Yong-hwa), a male melodrama star with a fatal flaw, who meets Oh Hae-ra (Hong Seung-hee), a woman who believes she is the heroine of his drama. Returning to dramas for the first time in about three years since KBS2's 'Brain Works' (2023), Jung plays a top star who never films kiss scenes. "To keep my loyalty to this project, I didn't do romantic comedies for a while. Even if offers came in, I was determined not to take them," he said. "I waited for it to be released while doing other genres, and I'm glad it's finally coming out." As CNBLUE's main vocalist, he also plays a tone-deaf character: "I've never been bad at singing, so it was hard," he said, adding that he exaggerated his acting a bit to bring out a cartoon-like fun. Hong Seung-hee plays a dual role as Oh Hae-ra, the only daughter of a wealthy family who, after an accident, believes she is Cha Hong-du, the heroine of Eom Tae-bong's drama. Han Chae-ah plays Song Hyun-joo, Eom Tae-bong's first love, and Jo Jae-yoon plays Namgung Seok, the butler who has long looked after Oh Hae-ra. Han recalled working with Jung on KBS2's 'Future's Choice' in 2013. Director Yoon, known for 'Lovely Runner', said this was a project he met before 'Lovely Runner'. Filming wrapped in May 2022, but the drama went unreleased for four years due to difficulties securing a broadcast slot. "At the time, not only our drama but four or five other works could not be released," Yoon said, adding that "the sensibility of four years ago is appealing in a different way now." Lee Yi-kyung, who appears as Han Jung-woo, did not attend; Yoon explained that he conveyed his apologies for being unable to join due to filming another project. The 16-episode drama premieres on the 24th at 10:50 p.m. and will also be available on TVING.
