Jung Yong-hwa of CNBLUE is returning as an actor for the first time in three years. He plays top actor Eom Tae-bong in Lifetime's new weekend drama "Endlessly, It's You" (written by Byun Sang-soon, directed by Yoon Jong-ho and Lee Seung-hoon). The series is a romance about a "master of melodrama" actor with a fatal flaw who meets a mysterious woman, Oh Hae-ra (Hong Seung-hee), who believes she is the heroine of a drama. Eom Tae-bong has the looks, acting skills and star power of a melodrama master, yet he has an ironclad rule never to film kiss scenes, and he is also tone-deaf. Explaining why he chose the project, Jung said, "I found the theme of going around with an artist you like and even protecting them yourself interesting." He also pointed to what he shares with the character: "Eom Tae-bong gives everything when he works, and when he comes home he is left all alone. That part resembles me." He said he focused on emotional details such as his gaze, tone of voice and the moments the characters look at each other, so the romance would work even without kiss scenes. He named singing IU's "Good Day" as his most memorable scene, admitting, "I had to sing off-key on purpose, and it was harder than I thought." Co-directed by Yoon Jong-ho of "Lovely Runner" and Lee Seung-hoon of "Doctor Shin," and invested in and distributed by A+E Global Media, the series premieres on Saturday the 24th at 10:50 p.m. on the Lifetime channel. It will be available in Korea on TVING and LG Channels, overseas on Viu, and in Japan on a major local OTT platform through distributor ACROSS.
