SUPER JUNIOR’s YESUNG Releases 2nd Full Album ‘Where We Are’ for His 10th Solo Anniversary: Modern Rock Title Track ‘Pedazos,’ Self-Directed, “I Want to Sing Until the Last Moment of My Life”

SUPER JUNIOR’s YESUNG marked his 10th anniversary as a soloist by releasing his second full-length album, ‘Where We Are,’ at 6 p.m. on Oct. 6, along with the music video for the title track ‘Pedazos.’ The album contains 12 songs spanning modern rock, city pop, ballads and disco. YESUNG wrote lyrics for nine of them and is also credited as composer on the track ‘숲’ (Forest). He self-directed the album as well, leading the overall planning and production from song selection to creative visuals and styling. ‘Pedazos,’ Spanish for ‘broken pieces,’ is a modern rock song that likens the unresolved, complex feelings after a breakup to debris. It opens with his husky low register and builds to explosive high notes and a surging band sound, with Spanish lyrics added toward the end. In the music video, YESUNG portrays someone after a breakup, sitting alone in an empty house or lying on a sofa. “When I first heard it in a taxi on a sunny day, I thought, ‘I’ve finally found my title track,’ but then I got a call that my mother was ill, and all kinds of emotions crossed my mind,” YESUNG said. “‘Pedazos’ gathers all my emotions from that day—the sunshine and excitement, the worry and fear.” He also said he wants to keep singing until the last moment of his life.
