Bitina (빛이나), a foundation established by the family of the late SHINee member Jonghyun, will hold the fourth edition of its multidisciplinary art project ‘HELLO DAY : ART JAM - Let Me Introduce Myself’ at the first-floor gallery of Raum Art Center in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul, from Oct. 23 to Nov. 1. ‘HELLO DAY’ is the foundation’s annual project spotlighting artists who keep creating. This year it brings visual and performing arts together, exploring how creators from different worlds discover and introduce new selves through their relationships. Five visual artists—film director Kang Min-gu, illustrator Lee Ye-rin, wire artist Lee Hyun, photographer Ji Ye-ji and visual artist Cheon A-ra—join performing artists including Park Jae-i and Yang Da-hye’s ‘RE:TURN PROJECT,’ musician Lee Jun and dancer Choi Si-ul for live performances and collaborations. An opening reception with live performances and a docent tour will be held on Oct. 24, and an ‘Artist-Led Tour’ in which participating artists explain their creative process will take place on Oct. 25. Kim So-dam, the foundation’s secretary general and Jonghyun’s older sister, said it is the first time the foundation is introducing visual artists it supports, adding that she hopes audiences will also face their own stories through collaborations that cross genre boundaries. The foundation continues to provide creative support and counseling for young artists, and the exhibition is free of charge in cooperation with Raum Art Center.
