SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan looked back on his alternative military service as an assistant teacher at a special school and expressed his affection for the students. On Oct. 6, YouTube channel ‘TEO’ released an episode of ‘Salon Drip’ featuring Jeonghan and Joshua, who talked about life since Jeonghan completed his service. Jeonghan said that before finishing his service in June, he worked as a social service agent at Miral School, a school for students with disabilities, assisting the students as a teaching aide. “It felt more meaningful and rewarding than serving somewhere else,” he said, explaining that he helped students study for exams they take to move on to college-level courses. He added that he found himself anxious about whether they were doing well once they entered the exam room, and that he liked seeing that side of himself. He also shared memories with the students. “They wrote me letters for Teachers’ Day, and every time they greeted me with ‘Hello, teacher Yoon Jeonghan’ when I arrived at work, it made me smile,” he said. Joshua added that Jeonghan proudly posted the letters and drawings he received in SEVENTEEN’s group chat. Jeonghan also said it had been about 60 days since he finished his service, and that he was sorry the regular routine he built during service had quickly fallen apart. When he slipped into casual speech, host Jang Do-yeon asked why he was talking informally, and he quipped, “I didn’t even know you were older,” drawing laughs. Jeonghan began alternative service in September 2024 and completed it in June, and he plans to continue unit activities with Joshua.
