KickFlip released their mini album ‘KICK OFF THE WALL Pt. 1’ at 6 p.m. on Oct. 6. Their first release in about six months since their fourth mini album ‘My First Kick’ in April, it carries the message that it’s okay for young people who stumble and collide not to find the perfect answer. The album features double title tracks for the first time since their debut. If ‘미완성 (Puzzle Piece),’ which KYEHOON helped create, is the question the group asks itself, ‘Kick Off The Wall (Feat. iann dior),’ created by KYEHOON and DONGHWA and featuring American artist iann dior, holds the answer they found by facing things head-on, completing a single narrative. Along with the two title tracks, the album includes ‘0 (Young),’ ‘휘청 (Rockin’),’ ‘hate blueberry,’ ‘Drop In’ and ‘우리 같이 청춘을 낭비해,’ with the members credited on all eight songs. Through their agency JYP Entertainment, the members said they were excited to show many sides of themselves, from their first double title tracks to new looks, adding, “Rather than following a set answer, crashing into things ourselves and making our own answers felt like the most ‘KickFlip’ thing to do.” KYEHOON explained that the lyric in ‘0 (Young)’—“next to a lonely zero, when you and I come together, it becomes infinity”—expresses the will that they can do anything because they are united as a team, and DONGHYEON said he wanted ‘휘청 (Rockin’)’ to carry the positive message of getting back up even when you stumble. The members praised one another’s vocal growth and expressiveness, saying the process of making the album was meaningful in itself.
