PLAVE’s Life-Size Standees Get a Fan Send-Off After the Oct. 3 ‘KEEP IT MANIC’ Show in Kaohsiung; 5th Mini Album ‘HYPERDRIVE’ Out Oct. 12 at 6 p.m., Tour Heads to Bangkok and Beyond

Virtual group PLAVE created an unusual “idol leaving the venue” scene in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. A video posted on social media on Oct. 4 shows fans gathered outside the Kaohsiung Arena after the group’s ‘KEEP IT MANIC’ world tour concert on Oct. 3. Instead of the members themselves, life-size standees of Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho and Hamin appeared. As staff carried the standees through the crowd, fans cheered and filmed on their phones as if the real members were leaving, and the staff carrying them were caught trying not to laugh. PLAVE perform through virtual characters that reproduce the members’ movements and performances via real-time motion capture rather than appearing in person. According to the agency VLAST, PLAVE will release their fifth mini album ‘HYPERDRIVE’ on music platforms at 6 p.m. on Oct. 12, their first new release in six months since the fourth mini album ‘Caligo Pt.2’ in April. The world tour continues alongside the comeback. After shows in Incheon and Kanagawa, Japan, last month, the group played Kaohsiung and will go on to Bangkok, Singapore, Taipei and Macau before reaching Pasadena in the United States.
