TVING’s new drama ‘Unique Romance’ revealed its script reading on the 1st. Director Kim Jin-young, writer Jeon Hyun-mi and the cast, including actress Park Soo-young, better known as Red Velvet’s Joy, Kim Hyun-jin, Shin Hyun-soo and Kang Na-eon, gathered for their first read-through. Based on a Naver Webtoon, ‘Unique Romance’ is a ‘mutual fandom romance’ about Gong Yu-il, an ordinary job seeker who unexpectedly becomes the manager of top star Tak Mu-i, and Tak, who hides the pain of being stalked, as the two grow closer by becoming fans of each other. Park plays Gong Yu-il, who keeps smiling even though neither her job hunt nor her love life goes as planned, while Kim plays Tak Mu-i, a beloved top actor hiding his wounds. At the reading, Park varied her tone and expressions between a job seeker juggling part-time work and interviews and a manager by a top star’s side, while Kim showed Tak’s different sides with a playful tone and gentle gaze. ‘Unique Romance’ premieres on November 9 simultaneously on TVING, the pan-regional OTT Viu and Japan’s ABEMA.
