UNIS is going separate ways after two and a half years of activities as a full group. According to the Hankook Ilbo, UNIS (Jin Hyeon-ju, Nana, Gehlee Dangca, Kotoko, Bang Yun-ha, Elisia, Oh Yoon-a, Lim Seo-won) brought its group activities to a close when its exclusive contract with F&F Entertainment ended on the 26th. UNIS was a project girl group formed through SBS's survival audition show “Universe Ticket,” which ended in January 2024, and it concluded its activities as planned in line with its 2.5-year contract term. The group debuted the same year and promoted songs such as “Curious” and “Swicy,” and this year it completed its first tour of the Americas. During its activities it released two mini albums and four singles in Korea, including a goodbye single. The end is especially bittersweet because the group's first remake single, “Haneulttang Byeolttang,” recently entered the Melon Hot 100 for a career high and had been steadily rising on the charts. According to industry sources, UNIS had already settled matters related to its exclusive contracts before the song's response took off, and some members had decided on the direction of their individual activities ahead of the scheduled contract end. The members' next steps are taking shape. Gehlee Dangca has returned to the Philippines to prepare new activities with a local management company, while other members are weighing offers from several agencies. In announcing the end of the contract, F&F Entertainment said it had “made the final decision to conclude UNIS's official activities as a full group,” leaving open the possibility of activities in a new form. As F&F Entertainment is the original agency of members such as Kotoko and Bang Yun-ha, attention is also on their future direction.
