Actor Cha Seo-won will take the stage in Daehangno as the medium Gi-nam in the play 'The Saviors' (Guwonjadeul). Art Company DRE Cooperative announced that the play will run from October 15 to 25 at Art Space Hyehwa in Daehangno, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Jo Eun plays Min-jeong and Lee Ki-hyun plays Jun-ho. The story begins when the medium Gi-nam returns to Seoul for the first time in three years after a certain incident. Gi-nam, who had been working at a fine-dining restaurant, is asked by Jun-ho, who runs a publishing company, to treat his wife Min-jeong, and during the treatment the desires, wounds and anxieties of the three characters come to the surface. Moving back and forth across the boundary between reality and the unreal, the play asks "What is salvation?" Starting from the contradiction between "people who do not change" and "people who long for change," it explores the psychology of wanting to believe in something all the more when one feels anxious. Cha Seo-won has worked across stage and screen, including the plays 'Deathtrap' and 'Bad Magnet', the musicals 'Chami' and 'The Lost Face 1895', Netflix's 'Wonderfools', MBC's 'The Second Husband' and tvN's 'Miss Lee'. In this production he plays Gi-nam, a medium who heals others but is himself not free from his past. 'The Saviors' is the sixth co-planned production this year of 'Black Cats', Art Space Hyehwa's support program for private-sector artistic creation. It is co-produced by Kim Woo-jin and Ulysses Project and supported by the Arts Council Korea's performing arts creator support program. Performances are at 8 p.m. on weekdays and 4 p.m. on weekends, with no shows on Tuesdays. The running time is 90 minutes, admission is for ages 12 and up, and unreserved seats cost 45,000 won, available through NOL ticket (Interpark).
