New of THE BOYZ has signed an exclusive contract with ONLY NEW ENTERTAINMENT and is starting a new chapter. The agency announced the signing at noon on the 28th and released new profile photos. According to News1, the company is a one-person agency to which only New currently belongs. The agency said, "New is an artist with a one-of-a-kind voice and solid skills who can show his own color in many fields," adding, "We will think through his direction together and actively support him so he can fully display his abilities." In the new profiles, New showed a restrained look in a black suit alongside a casual look in a white T-shirt and denim pants, complete with a playful wink. New debuted with THE BOYZ in 2017 and expanded his career to the musical stage alongside group activities. After unpaid settlement issues at former agency One Hundred surfaced last year, the other nine members (Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo and Eric) notified the agency in February this year that they were terminating their contracts, and in April the court granted their injunction to suspend the contracts' effect. New did not take part in the termination notice or the injunction at the time. The nine later signed a group activity contract with new label Seven Eight Records, which announced on the 14th that it would handle their group activities. New parted ways with his former agency later and, with this contract, continues on his own path.
