The film 'The King's Warden' proved its box-office power on home screens as well during the Chuseok holiday. According to ratings research firm Nielsen Korea, the film, aired by SBS on the 26th as a Chuseok special movie, recorded household ratings of 11.0% nationwide and 11.8% in the Seoul metropolitan area. This was the highest figure among terrestrial programs that day, ahead of KBS1's broadcast of the '2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games women's basketball final, Korea vs. Japan' (10.0%) and KBS1's 'News 9' (7.4%). Sports World and other outlets reported that the figure ranked first among all programs aired during this year's Chuseok holiday. The broadcast marked the first time the film had been shown on TV since its theatrical release. Although it had been scheduled for 9:30 p.m., it began only after 10:30 p.m. because the preceding Asian Games baseball game between Korea and China was delayed by about an hour due to heavy rain at the venue, yet it still achieved double-digit ratings. Directed by Jang Hang-jun and starring Yoo Hai-jin and Park Ji-hoon, 'The King's Warden' is a historical drama set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province. It tells the story of King Danjong, Yi Hong-wi (Park Ji-hoon), who was dethroned and exiled, and village chief Eom Heung-do (Yoo Hai-jin), who volunteered his village as the place of exile. Released on February 4, the film drew about 16.92 million viewers, ranking second among all-time Korean box-office hits.
