According to Jongno-gu, Seoul, the 39th Insa Traditional Culture Festival, '2026 Insadong Antique & Art Fair', will be held around Insadong—including Insa Art Plaza and Anyoung Insadong—from October 1 to 4. Organized by the Insa Traditional Culture Preservation Society, the festival centers on an opening ceremony, an antique fair, a tea and crafts expo and an art fair, with side events such as gukak busking, traditional mounting demonstrations and K-food experiences. The festival opens with a large-scale calligraphy performance at 1:30 p.m. on October 1, followed by a celebratory performance and the opening ceremony at 2 p.m. On the first basement and ground floors of Insa Art Plaza, the antique fair—a large-scale fine-art antiques fair now in its fifth year—will present Korean antiques such as instruments, ceramics, furniture and accessories as well as rare antiques collected overseas, while the building's second floor will host an art fair showcasing traditional works including folk painting alongside works by emerging artists. Gallery docent tours will also run throughout Insadong. On the third and fourth floors of Insa Art Plaza and at Anyoung Insadong Plaza, a tea and crafts expo will introduce traditional teas, tea ware and crafts, letting visitors enjoy traditional teas from across the country in one place, along with a special invitational exhibition, the Geumdang tea gathering exhibition. Gukak busking, traditional mounting demonstrations, K-food experiences and a ceramics exhibition by young artists will continue on the streets. Jongno-gu Mayor Yoo Chan-jong said, “I hope this festival becomes an occasion to reaffirm the value of our traditional culture and art, and an opportunity to strengthen the competitiveness of local traditional culture businesses and shed light on Insadong's unique cultural value.”
