Naver, Kakao Maps Strengthen Services for BTS Comeback Concert

Ahead of BTS's 'The Comeback Live: Arirang' concert scheduled for March 21st at Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul, major map services including Kakao Map and Naver Map have enhanced their functions to manage massive crowds. Kakao Map is collaborating with Seoul City to operate a high-precision bus location information service in pilot form from March 16th for one week, improving real-time tracking for approximately 420 Seoul city bus routes. On the concert day, users can check road closures, congested areas, temporary restrooms, and medical clinic locations through the map services. Additionally, information about subway non-stop operations and bus detours will be provided in real-time. Seoul City and Kakao have spent approximately two years establishing a high-precision bus data production and verification system, planning to review official implementation in the second half of this year through this pilot operation. A Kakao official stated that they will thoroughly prepare to help citizens move safely and conveniently, while continuously advancing urban traffic information services. These enhanced services are designed to manage traffic congestion resulting from the large number of visitors expected at the BTS concert while prioritizing public safety and mobility.
