EXO Comeback Expected to Boost Entertainment Stock Market Recovery

The four major K-pop entertainment stocks—HYBE, YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and SM Entertainment—are showing increased potential for stock price recovery as major artists resume activities in the first half of this year. Securities firms expect substantial performance contributions from BTS's full group comeback (March 20), BIGBANG's 20th anniversary world tour (approximately 20 concerts with 1 million attendees expected around Coachella in April), Stray Kids' new album and world tour, and TWICE's North American and European tours. Particularly for SM Entertainment, EXO's comeback alongside AESPA and RIIZE's Japan activities are planned, with industry analysts expecting overall artist portfolio performance growth as legacy groups like EXO and TVXQ complement emerging groups like RIIZE and NCT WISH. Currently, entertainment stocks show weak performance with JYP down 16.51%, YG down 9%, and SM down 25% since the beginning of the year, primarily due to liquidity concentration in major semiconductor stocks. However, actual performance remains solid, with JYP's Q4 2025 revenue increasing 16.8% year-over-year to 232.6 billion won and SM's revenue at 319 billion won, both exceeding market expectations. The financial investment industry assesses a high possibility of sentiment reversal in entertainment stocks following artists' full-scale activities beginning in March.
