The group CORTIS (Martin, James, Joohoon, Sunghyun, Geonho) has truly taken off. The title track ‘REDRED’ from CORTIS' second mini album settled at No. 3 on Melon's August overall monthly chart, published on the 1st. It began at No. 3 in May, then ranked No. 2 in June and No. 3 in July, keeping a top-three position for four straight months. Melon's monthly chart ranks songs each month by aggregating service usage such as streaming and downloads. Duplicate users are excluded, so it is regarded as an indicator of broad public popularity. On this chart, ‘REDRED’ reached No. 2, the highest placement among K-pop boy groups across last year and this year. It is also the boy-group song that has remained in the top three the longest since ‘Dynamite’ by BTS in 2020. Even when broadening the scope to the past 10 years, the only boy group to keep a single song in the top three for four months is CORTIS, from the same label as BTS. Since its release on April 20, the song has won big love for its fresh, textured sound, distinctive lyrics, and a performance that sticks in the mind. CORTIS made a mark as a ‘Young Creator Crew’ that co-creates music, choreography, and video, and the abbreviation ‘Young CC’ spread as a buzzword referring to a young and daring generation. On the global audio·music streaming platform Spotify's ‘Weekly Top Songs Korea’ (tracking period: Aug. 21~27), it has spent 18 consecutive weeks at No. 1. Meanwhile, CORTIS will hold ‘2026 CORTIS TOUR PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN IN JAPAN’ at Pia Arena MM in Kanagawa, Japan, on Sept. 4~6. Marking the first anniversary of their debut, they recently released the expanded edition of their second mini album, ‘GREENGREEN_playextended’, adding two new songs, ‘PACK IT UP’ and ‘MONEYMONEYMONEY’, and are continuing active promotions.
