BIGBANG's Goyang Concert Expected to Bring 2 Billion Won in City Revenue

BIGBANG held its debut 20th-anniversary world tour's first concert at the Goyang Sports Complex from July 21-23. The three-day event marked the premiere of the group's new song 'BiiiG,' released after approximately 4 years and 4 months, and serves as the opening show for a 33-city global tour across 19 countries. According to the Korean Performing Arts Box Office System (KOPIS), a total of 107,638 tickets were sold. Under Goyang City's sports facility management ordinance, the city will collect 10% of ticket revenue as facility usage fees, projected to generate approximately 2 billion won in municipal revenue. However, the final amount will be confirmed based on the organizer's settlement data, accounting for cancellations, refunds, and comps. The concert featured large-scale special effects including a 23-ton LED screen, lighting, lasers, and pyrotechnics, with band members actively participating in stage design to showcase their 20-year musical journey. Goyang City's joint safety management system with police and fire departments resulted in no major incidents; only one attendee with a pre-existing condition required hospitalization, and several others received treatment for heat-related symptoms at the venue.
