The Samsung Lions announced through their official SNS on August 27 that Irene, who is from Daegu, will throw the first pitch at a game against the KT Wiz at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu starting at 6 PM on August 29. This marks the second consecutive year that Irene has participated as a first pitch thrower for the Samsung Lions. Meanwhile, Red Velvet released their summer mini album 'Velvet Summer' on August 3, which contains five tracks including 'Surfin' Boy'.
