Departing from the alternative pop of 'Silhouette,' the latest track embraces an ethereal R&B sound produced by Peyote. In an interview with Hypebeast, Mark clarified that 'Alone' is not a stylistic shift but rather a consequence of staying true to the story he wanted to tell. He drew inspiration from Doechii's album 'Alligator Bites Never Heal,' aiming to implement bold and honest storytelling in his work. While 'Silhouette' presented a comfortable version of himself away from the spotlight, 'Alone' explores the excessive thoughts, anxiety, and quieter inner self that emerge when everything becomes silent. Mark spent a year deliberately slowing down, refining his craft, and allowing music to come on his own timeline. Through this process, he confronted his feelings of loneliness and discovered that he now loves not just completing music, but the act of creating it itself.
