Global girl group KATSEYE topped the K-POPIT Board global rising chart as of August 20 with a Power Index score of 69, driven by the success of their third mini album 'WILD' released on August 14. All five tracks from the album entered Spotify's US and global daily charts. The title track 'Hootie Frutti' debuted at number 6 on Spotify's US Daily Top Songs and number 12 globally, while the pre-released single 'Animal' climbed to number 5 on the global chart. The group also earned two nominations at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards announced on August 18 for 'PINKY UP' in the categories of Best Choreography and Best K-POP, marking their second consecutive year of MTV VMA nominations following a PUSH Performance of the Year win in 2025. However, the group faces internal challenges ahead of their first headlining arena tour beginning September 1. Member Manon has been on extended hiatus since February for health recovery, leader Sophia paused activities in early August following medical consultation with a re-examination scheduled for September, and Megan recently missed some promotional activities due to health reasons, raising fan concerns about how many members will be able to perform on the upcoming tour.
