K-pop girl group RESCENE donated 50 million won to support flood recovery efforts in Geoje, Gyeongnam Province. The donation was announced by the Geoje City government on August 19th. RESCENE made the contribution in the name of their fanbase REMINE following heavy rainfall that hit the Geoje area from August 15-17, causing flooding, landslides, and damage to roads and facilities. The donation holds special meaning as Geoje is the hometown of member Won-i and the birthplace of the viral online trend 'Geoje Yaho.' Since being appointed as Geoje City's promotional ambassador in May, RESCENE has actively participated in various promotional activities to showcase the region's attractions. The donated funds will be distributed as consolation money to disaster victims, while the fanbase REMINE has also established a dedicated donation page to fundraise for residents affected by the flooding in the Gyeongnam region.
