ATEEZ's San Ignites New 'Beast Idol' Trend with 5-Second 'BAD' Choreography

ATEEZ is sparking a new 'Beast Idol' syndrome through their mini-album 14's title track 'BAD' from 'GOLDEN HOUR: Part.5'. Member San, wearing a shimmering golden shirt, captivated audiences with a 5-second chest-bouncing choreography that appears after the song reaches its climax, completely dominating TikTok and Instagram Reels. The music video has achieved 50 million views since August, with fans referring to this dance as the 'to die for' part. Notably, the video extends beyond idol fandoms and has gone viral among people in their 30s and 40s and the general public. ATEEZ, previously centered on overseas fandom, has entered the top rankings of Melon's daily Top 100 chart for the first time since debut due to this video. San co-created this choreography with his dedicated dance team BBTRIPPIN and choreographer Lee Jung. The new 'Beast Idol' differs from the past era symbolized by 2PM, featuring a complex image combining ATEEZ's world concept with web novel and webtoon romance fantasy genres—popularity naturally formed among fans rather than intentional company marketing. San earned the title 'Northern Grand Duke' from his 2024 'Ice On My Teeth' activities, and has now gained another epithet 'Southern Grand Duke' with his tanned, healthier physique in the 'BAD' promotion set to Brazilian funk rhythm.
