BTS Changes Lyrics During US Tour Following Grammy Boycott Declaration

BTS officially boycotted the Grammy Awards and expressed their stance during their North American tour. Leader RM changed lyrics to their iconic song 'MIC DROP' during performances at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on January 1-2 (local time), attracting attention. The group replaced the original lyrics 'Live a life, man. Good luck' with 'Born in Korea. That's why they don't know 'bout us' and added 'we players gonna play' to haters' criticism. This was interpreted as a strong response to controversies suggesting the Grammy Awards deliberately exclude Asian artists from major categories. The two-day concert attracted 157,000 attendees, and their fan community ARMY supported the group's decision with the hashtag #ArtHasNoAliens. 'Aliens' from their fifth album 'ARIRANG' achieved chart success, topping iTunes Top Songs charts in 78 countries and regions as of last month.
