Composer Hong Ji-sang received the Grand Prize in the Arrangement category at the Korean Music Copyright Association's (KOMCA) 2025 Awards Ceremony. Hong Ji-sang, a veteran creator who produced numerous hit songs for JYP Entertainment artists including Park Jin Young, Wonder Girls, and 2AM, is affectionately called the 'Fifth Member' of DAY6 among fans due to his extensive work on the group's songs. His arrangement contributions to DAY6's 'So That I Can Be a Page', 'HAPPY', and 'You Were Beautiful' achieved chart resurgences and garnered tremendous popularity, culminating in this first grand prize win. Since DAY6's debut on September 7, 2015, fans have created a popular phrase: 'Love Park Sung-jin, Love Kang Young-hyun, Love Kim Won-pil, Love Yoon Do-woon, Stay healthy Hong Ji-sang,' demonstrating the fervent support he receives. Meanwhile, DAY6 member Young K further added to the celebration by being promoted to regular membership status at KOMCA last month. At the ceremony, BUMZU from Pledis Entertainment won the Grand Prize in both songwriting and composition categories for the third consecutive year, solidifying his status as a K-pop hit maker.
