NCT's Jeno and Jaemin's 'Wind Up' Short-Form Drama Gets Theatrical Movie Release

NCT members Jeno and Jaemin's short-form drama 'Wind Up' is being developed into a theatrical feature film, drawing significant attention. Since its release on January 16th, the series surpassed 5 million cumulative views in just five days, achieving major popularity. The production team has decided to compile 50 episodes into a theatrical release. Co-produced by Take One Studio and SM Entertainment, this buddy genre film tells the story of friendship and growth between a high school baseball pitcher and a transfer student who becomes his manager. It marks the latest work by director Kim Sung-ho, who previously directed the film 'How to Steal a Dog' and the Netflix series 'Move to Heaven.' The project transforms vertical mobile-format short-form content into traditional horizontal theatrical format, pioneering a new distribution avenue for short-form content. The film was showcased to international buyers at the European Film Market during the Berlin International Film Festival, with overseas distribution rights currently being pursued. Strong global reception is anticipated, leveraging NCT's worldwide recognition and fanbase.
