IU's connection to Yangpyeong County began with a country house she owns there. Since 2020, she has made steady donations including COVID-19 response support, living expense assistance for grandparent-grandchild households and single-parent families, and winter heating assistance. Including this latest donation, IU's cumulative donations to Yangpyeong County over approximately six years total 165 million won. Beyond her local contributions, IU has demonstrated her commitment to giving throughout the year, donating 100 million won on Children's Day and 300 million won on her birthday (May 16) in the name of IU-AENA, combining her name with her fan club UAENA.
