BTS Makes History with First Belgium Concert, Brussels Emerges as Europe's K-pop Hub

BTS is making history with its first-ever performance in Belgium, establishing Brussels as Europe's K-pop center. The group will perform on March 1st and 2nd at King Baudouin Stadium (capacity 50,000), part of their 'Arirang' world tour. Tickets for both nights sold out within 30 minutes of release. The concerts are drawing fans from across Europe and beyond—from neighboring Netherlands and Germany to Eastern Europe, Northern Europe, the Middle East, and North America—with Belgian broadcaster RTBF estimating up to 120,000 fans attending. Hotel demand in Brussels has surged nearly 100% compared to the same period last year, with March 1st bookings already exceeding 90% occupancy. Room rates have skyrocketed 3-5 times normal prices, with some hotels charging over 10 times the usual rate. The Brussels Tourism Board is promoting family-oriented tour packages targeting young fans visiting with parents, highlighting attractions like Grand Place, the Animation Museum featuring characters like the Smurfs, and various art museums. Public transport operator STIB has implemented special measures including increased subway frequency and extended operating hours. Brussels officials view the BTS concert as an opportunity to enhance the city's international standing and demonstrate its status as a cosmopolitan hub for diverse cultural events.
