K-pop Preference Varies by Region: RIIZE Tops Korea, aespa China, TWICE Japan

According to Melon Global K-Chart data operated by Kakao Entertainment, K-pop artist preferences vary significantly across Korea, China, and Japan. In Korea, RIIZE, a fifth-generation idol group under SM Entertainment, topped the charts, while in China, aespa, which includes multiple members of Chinese origin, dominated the upper rankings. In Japan, JYP Entertainment artists TWICE and Stray Kids demonstrate strong local influence on music streaming platforms. BTS maintains top positions across all three countries, proving its global impact. Last week's Melon Global K-Chart rankings showed RIIZE at 1st, BTS at 2nd, and Hatsutohatsutsu at 3rd. These regional preference differences are attributed to each area's cultural characteristics, local member composition of groups, and individual entertainment companies' region-specific marketing strategies.
