BTS ARIRANG Tour Achieves Sold-Out Status Amid US Economic Challenges

While the U.S. entertainment industry faces economic downturns leading major pop artists to cancel or reduce concert tours, BTS's new world tour 'ARIRANG' is garnering attention by achieving sold-out status for all North American and European shows. According to Forbes, high inflation, soaring fuel prices, and competition from major entertainment events like the FIFA World Cup have significantly impacted concert ticket sales. The average concert ticket price in 2024 reached $144, compared to $82 in 2020 and $115 last year. While renowned artists like Pussy Cat Dolls, Post Malone, and Jelly Roll have scaled back or canceled tour dates, BTS's 'ARIRANG' tour, which launched in April, continues to maintain explosive popularity. Originally announced with 79 shows, the tour expanded to 88 total performances after additional dates were added in Tampa, Stanford, Las Vegas, Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Melbourne, Jakarta, and Bulacan due to continuous sold-out bookings. This marks BTS's first new stadium tour in four years since 'Permission to Dance on Stage' in 2022 and their first global world tour in seven years since 'LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF' in 2019.
