With the successful conclusion of the TVING original drama 'The Legend of the Cook,' starring actor Park Ji-hoon on the 16th, original author Jay Robin revealed unexpected earnings. Through social media, Jay Robin stated that the novel royalties amounted to approximately 88 million won after the drama aired, with unpaid web comic royalties expected to exceed this amount. Jay Robin credited Park Ji-hoon with the drama's success, noting he achieved consecutive box office hits following the 10-million-viewer film 'A Man Living with the King.' The author clarified misconceptions about limited original work fees after dramatization and detailed the revenue structure for web novel and web comic creators. Income comes from five sources: novel royalties, advertising fees, web comic royalties, lecturer fees, and video rights (ranging from 10 million to 100 million won plus bonuses). Jay Robin expressed that the drama adaptation of his work, based on military service experiences in Samcheok, Gangwon Province, was a deeply fulfilling experience.
